If you are experiencing emotional stress, the dedicated Community Recovery Lifeline Hotline is also available to provide qualified disaster counselling. Call the Lifeline Hotline on 1800 116 671, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Community Recovery Hubs
Community Recovery Hubs are a place where residents who are experiencing hardship can apply for grants and obtain emotional and wellbeing support. Community Recovery Workers will assist with grant applications and offer referrals to other community organisations and government agencies for further assistance.

Grants and financial support
Australian Government Grants
Funding from the Federal Government is available to help people in the Logan local government area affected by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. This funding is not managed by Logan City Council.
Available grants:
- Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment – a lump sum payment to help you if you’ve been directly affected by this declared disaster
- Disaster Recovery Allowance – a short term payment to help you if Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred directly affects your income.
Residents can check their eligibility, apply for grants or find out more information by:
- visiting a recovery hub
- lodging a claim via your My Gov Account
- calling Services Australia on 180 2266 to complete a claim
- attending a Services Australia office.
Queensland Government Grants – Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme
Funding from the State government is available to eligible City of Logan suburbs impacted by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. This funding is not managed by Logan City Council.

If you are in an area affected by Cyclone Alfred, you can now get your regular PBS medications without needing a new prescription. This ‘Continued Dispensing’ emergency measure is in place until 31 March 2025. |
