Heatwave safety for seniors

Everyone is vulnerable to the effects of a heatwave, but people aged over 65 are at greater risk than others. It is important to stay healthy and take steps to reduce your risk. During a heatwave, keep as cool as possible and drink plenty of water.

To find relief from a heatwave you can:

  • visit your local library. Our libraries are free, comfortable and air-conditioned. Find your closest Library location
  • enjoy some artwork at the air-conditioned Logan Art Gallery
  • visit your local Community centre to see if they offer air-conditioned drop-in services.
