What if I want to trade for a few days?
A one-off event licence is for a single event such as a fete or market. The license permits trading for up to 12 days at a single event or market within a 12 month licensing period, running from August 1 to July 31.
For example, a food stall licensee may only trade at a weekly market 12 times using this licence.
If, the licensee wishes to trade at another market, a new licence is required. They can either apply for a new, one-off event licence or apply for the annual licence detailed below.
Note: a one-off event licence does not grant 12 days of trade that can be divided up to trade at differing events or markets.
What if I want to trade often or from different locations?
An annual licence allows you to trade from multiple approved locations within Logan for up to 12 months. The annual licence type does not limit the number of trading occasions or events.
For example, an annual licence allows a temporary food stall to operate from ‘Market A’ the first weekend, then ‘Market B’ the following weekend. A licence is not required to trade at each market because the single annual licence allows trade from each location.
It is important to understand that each annual licence permits one food stall to trade. Each food stall must have its own licence. Multiple food stalls cannot trade using a single licence. Should a food stall trade without its own licence it is trading unlicensed. Unlicensed trading can attract fines.
An annual licence only allows trade from approved events or markets within Logan. The Logan City Planning Scheme limits temporary food stalls trading from some locations. You are responsible to ensure you are trading from an approved event and comply with the Logan City Planning Scheme.
