CC1.1.1 - Deliver a report on the medium term needs for Logan's public transport system.

Purpose: Identify infrastructure requirements for the City of Logan for the next five to 15 years.

A report on the medium-term needs for Logan's public transport system was written to Council to fund the medium-term passenger transport strategy. Council after considering the report indicated that the matter may be considered in a future budget.

CC1.2.1 - Complete a condition survey of the sealed road network.

Purpose: Assess overall condition and prioritise future rehabilitation.

As at the end of the third quarter, field work for the sealed road condition survey was completed by the contractor. Data processing is scheduled for completion mid-2021.

CC1.2.2 - Deliver the annual Road Maintenance Program.

Purpose: Maintain the quality of the local road network.

As at the end of the third quarter, delivery of the annual road maintenance program is on track with 75% of the program having been delivered.

CC1.2.3 - Deliver the annual road and drainage capital program.

Purpose: Improve active transport across the city.

The Capital Roadworks and Drainage Program delivers enhanced transport and drainage infrastructure across the City of Logan. The program delivers infrastructure upgrades to cater for improvements and growth across the city as well as renewal of the existing infrastructure.

At the end of the Third Quarter of the 2020/2021 Financial Year, delivery of the Capital Roadworks and Drainage Program has achieved $34.7 million in overall expenditure:

Significant projects, which were underway or completed in the Third Quarter include the following:

  • Kerb and channel rehabilitation at numerous locations to support future asphalt resurfacing works ($1 million)
  • Compton Road Shared footpath / cycleway, Slack Creek between Allgas Street and Baker Street ($3.2 Million)
  • Holmview Road local road kerbing and stormwater drainage upgrade, Beenleigh ($0.7 Million)
  • Pavement reconstruction works at Silverwood Drive, Red Ash Court and Red Cedar Crescent, Flagstone ($2.0 million)
  • Stage 1 of the Woodlands Drive Catchment Master Drainage Project, Rochedale South ($1.1 million
  • Stage 1 of Doug White Drive, Park Ridge ($3.0 million)
  • Local road kerb and stormwater drainage upgrade of Webb Road, Loganlea ($2.9 million)
  • Early works associated with Stage 1 of local road kerbing and stormwater drainage upgrades to streets in Jimboomba (South Street, Nichols Street, John Street, Mary Street and Hill Street) ($7.8 million)
  • Flinders Street Carpark Rehabilitation, Logan Central ($0.65 million)

There is currently $116.1 million of projects currently in various stages of pre-construction (including procurement and pre-award assessment) in preparation for construction commencement. This includes:

  • Shared footpath / cycleway construction on Station Road, Slack Creek between Kingston Road and Haig Road ($1.2 Million)
  • Black Spot Upgrade Grand Plaza Drive Pedestrian Improvements, Browns Plains ($0.3 Million)
  • Major Intersection Upgrade of Logan Reserve Road / Muchow Road, Marsden ($1.2 Million)
  • Major Intersection Upgrade of Browns Plains Road and Scrubby Creek Road, Browns Plains ($1.8 Million)
  • Major Intersection Upgrade of Albert Road and Station Road Intersection, Bethania ($1 Million)
  • Priority Infrastructure Upgrade of Gilmore Road, Berrinba ($11 Million)
  • Chambers Flat Road Upgrade, Kings Way to Mount Lindesay Highway, Chambers Flat ($38.5 Million)
  • Stage 1 of local road kerbing and stormwater drainage upgrades to streets in Jimboomba (South Street, Nichols Street, John Street, Mary Street and Hill Street) ($7.8 million)
  • Local road kerbing and stormwater drainage upgrades to Dickman Road, Forestdale ($0.45 Million)
  • Stormwater drainage upgrade in Stage 2 of the Defiance Road Catchment, Woodridge ($1.8 Million)
  • Stormwater drainage upgrades in Stages 2 and 9 of the Woodlands Drive Catchment, Rochedale South ($18 Million)
  • Stormwater drainage upgrades of Woodbeck Street and Pheasant Street Catchment, Beenleigh ($1.6 Million)
  • Stormwater drainage upgrades of Stages 1-5 of the Kelly Street Catchment, Eagleby ($6 Million)
  • Local road upgrade of Schmidt Road, Eagleby ($0.4 Million)

  • Pavement rehabilitation of Cedar Grove Road, Cedar Grove ($1.5 Million)
  • 20-21 Asphalt Resurfacing Package 4 and 5 ($8 Million)
  • Grand Plaza Drive Culvert Rehabilitation, Browns Plains ($3.88 Million)
  • Scott Lane Culvert Replacement, North MacLean ($7.0 million jointly funded under the Australian Governments Bridge Renewal Program)
  • Teese Bridge timber bridge replacement with new concrete bridge, Veresdale Scrub ($1.7 Million jointly funded)

CC1.3.1 - Deliver construction works for the Compton Road cycleway project.

Purpose: Link the cycleway to Logan Road and provide connections to the Springwood Bus Station.

Construction of the Compton Road Cycleway is currently underway.

CC2.1.1 - Commission the Cedar Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the Cedar Grove Environment Centre.

Purpose: Improve services to the southern region of the City of Logan.

The Cedar Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)  has been commissioned and is treating wastewater from the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA).

CC2.1.2 - Deliver master planning works for the Chambers Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and associated trunk infrastructure.

Purpose: Improve services to the southern region of the City of Logan.

Monitor

Master planning of the Chambers Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant site has commenced, but will not be completed until the likelihood of a diversion of Chambers Flat Road onto the site has been clarified.

CC2.2.1 - Deliver a review of the planning scheme.

Purpose: Enable well planned development for residents and businesses.

The Major Planning Scheme Review 2020 resulting in the version 9 amendment to Logan Planning Scheme 2015 will be going to Council for endorsement on Tuesday the 20 April.

CC2.3.1 - Deliver a review of the Local Government Infrastructure Plan.

Purpose: Deliver trunk infrastructure in the City of Logan.

Work is continuing on LGIP V1.2 however has been delayed due to an additional item being added into the schedule of works.  There is an approximate 3 month delay at this time.  LGIPV2 has now been extended with a completion date in 2023.
