We have six water filling stations to make sure you always have access to drinking water. Water filling stations are for residential customers and commercial water carriers.
The current price of water at the filling stations is $6.80 per kilolitre. You can spend a maximum of $75.00 per transaction.
Commercial water carriers wishing to access a higher volume of water can apply for a metered standpipe. This will provide access to authorised hydrant fill points.
When you use a filling station you will need to bring:
- a water container
- a hose with a 25 millimetre fitting
- a hose attachment – the filling stations have a 25 millimetre hose tap outlet and a 50 millimetre camlock outlet.
You can buy a hose and the attachment from a hardware or irrigation store.
Payment
You can pay with a credit or debit card, including pre-paid cards (Visa and Mastercard only).
Locations
The table below lists the locations of our water filling stations.
Instructions
Instructions are displayed at each water filling station. You can also download a copy of the Water filling station instructions (PDF 88 KB) and the Water filling station terms and conditions (PDF 26 KB).
Transaction process
- The dollar amount you select on the filling station will be pre-authorised and reserved against your credit limit by your bank.
- Water will be dispensed up to the pre-selected amount (example $50.00) or until you press the finish button or turn off the tap.
- Charges will be applied to your card for the actual amount of water you dispense.
- If you take less than the pre-selected amount, the difference will still be reserved against your credit limit. It may take up to 7 business days for your bank to release the reserved amount.
If your card payment does not work, do not keep trying to use PayWave or inserting your card. Please check that:
- you have followed the instructions on the machine, and
- you have enough funds on your card.
Every time you PayWave or insert your card, your bank tries to authorise the pre-selected amount against your credit limit.
Your bank will hold your funds for up to 7 business days. Once your bank has determined that you did not take the water, they will release the funds back into your account.
Receipts
Receipts are not issued at the water filling stations. You can use your bank statements for tax purposes.
If you need a receipt, please email us at council@logan.qld.gov.au and provide the following information:
- date, time and location that you purchased water
- amount you spent
- last 4 digits of the credit card you used
- name and address you would like to have on the receipt.
We will then email or post a receipt to you.
