Velvety Tree Pear
Scientific name: Opuntia tomentosa
Description
- Tree like plan forms a central woody trunk over 40 centimetres wide
- Stems are divided into oblong pads that are dull green and velvety to touch. Pads are 15 to 35 centimetres long, 8 to 12 centimetres wide and 1.5 to 2 centimetres thick.
- Flowers are a deep orange 4 to 5 centimetres long and wide.

Includes weeds, pest animals and noxious fish like gambusia, dingoes and yellow crazy ants.

Due to its potential to cause serious economic, environmental or social harm, these weeds are regulated by Council.

Control method
Manual Removal
