Storey Road and Manuka Road Upgrade

Wide shot of storey road with a school in the background

Project overview

We are upgrading Storey Road and Manuka Road in Logan Village to improve safety around the school and reduce congestion during drop-off and pick-up times.

The works also include improvements to drainage to help water flow away from the street in heavy rain events.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program in association with Logan City Council.

Project timeline

The Storey Road and Manuka Road upgrade commenced in December 2023 and is expected to be finished by the end of April 2024.

Project features

The upgrade will:

  • install a new footpath on Storey Road from the school drop-off zone to Manuka Road and a wider path from the drop-off zone to North Street
  • widen sections of both roads and introduce on-street parking lanes along both sides of Storey Road
  • install new parking layouts in front of Logan Village State School on Storey Road
  • install new stormwater infrastructure and kerbing to improve road and verge drainage
  • provide road resurfacing, line marking and new road signs
  • reconstruct driveways (where required)
  • relocate and restore fire hydrant.

Project benefits

The road upgrade project will deliver a range of benefits, including:

  • a safer and more accessible environment for drivers and students
  • less congestion during school-drop off and pick-up times
  • reduced water ponding and other impacts during heavy rain events.
