The Station Road Shared Pathway Project is proudly supported by the Queensland Government's Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program. This project provides a new link in our shared pathway network at Loganlea that delivers greater connecitivty to local public transport, hospitals and schools.
This project will complete a cycle route that connects Kingston Road, Railway Parade and Loganlea Road. By extending and improving our off-road connections we are building a healthier and greener city.
Off-road paths make it safer, easier and more desirable for people to use the path for recreation or travel.
Project timeline
BMD will deliver the works on behalf of Logan City Council. Works are expected to start September 2023 and be finished by early 2024, subject to weather and site conditions.
Project features
The project will deliver:
- a new section on the side of Station Road to connect to the existing shared pathway at Kingston Road to the existing bus stop
- a shared concrete pathway along the southern side of Station Road from Kingston Road to Haig Road
- new and wider kerb ramps to provide smoother access between the road and the path
- upgrades to the island refuge at Haig Road to provide a safer road crossing point
- bus stop upgrade, updated signage and line marking.
Project benefits
This shared pathway will deliver a range of benefits including:
- link to an existing on-road bicycle lane
