Poetry in motion at slam competition
Two spoken word performers are needed to represent the City of Logan in the Queensland Slam Poetry State Final in October.
Logan Libraries is partnering with Word Travels to select the local representatives during the 2024 City of Logan heat this Thursday (September 19) at the Butterbox Theatre in the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct.
A slam workshop before the heat from 3:30pm to 5:00pm will help participants fine tune their poems.
Anyone aged 16 and over can register and take part in the slam which runs from 6:30pm until 9:00pm.
Audience members also need to register and will be encouraged to be guest judges.
The MC and guest performer for the night is spoken word artist and poet Angela Peita.
