What is the Logan Youth Action Group?

The Logan Youth Action Group (LYAG) is made up of young people aged 14 to 24 years old who live, work or study in the City of Logan and are passionate about making a positive difference in the local community.

The group plays an active role in ensuring the needs of our city’s young people are heard, while also turning ideas into exciting community projects.

Who can join?

The group is open to change makers aged 14 to 24 years old who live, work or study in Logan.

Why should I join?

  • Inspire and drive change by leading community projects and activities
  • Develop skills through volunteering, workshops and networking opportunities
  • Meet with like-minded young people and build lasting friendships
  • Represent the voice of young people at local government level
  • Get to know your local Councillor and be involved in local government

How often do we meet?

  • Meetings or activities will be held once a month. This may change depending on what LYAG are planning 
  • Official LYAG meetings are normally held from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, subject to change
  • Additional team meetings may be required.

Our 2024 achievements

  • Launched the Seniors Digital Guide to support seniors living in Logan to get online
  • Featured on Channel 9 news for developing of the Seniors Digital Guide
  • Attended four workshops
  • Volunteered at four community events
  • Volunteered at the LYAG Youth Native Community Garden Bed at Jimboomba Community Garden throughout the year
  • Hosted a breakfast and Council tour with the Mayor and Councillors.
