Jimboomba Local Road Upgrades Stage 3

Project overview

We are progressing Stage 3 design of the Jimboomba Local Road Upgrades, which includes changes to sections of Ann Street, Bell Street and Queen Street.

These upgrades mean smoother roads with street lighting, new kerb and channel and improved roadside verges for pedestrians.

This project is being delivered under the Local Roads, Stormwater and Kerb and Channel Upgrade program.

Detailed design nearing completion May 2024


If you live on Queen Street, Ann Street and Bell Street, please complete the Property Access Requirements form.

Construction due to start late 2024, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Project features

The design includes:

  • kerb and channel (where none previously existed)
  • stormwater drainage upgrades including gully pits, pipes and culverts
  • road reconstruction and resurfacing throughout the project area
  • new driveway entrances
  • new street lighting
  • service relocations (where necessary)
  • finishing works including landscaping, signage and line marking.

  • street lighting for visibility and safety
  • improved roadside verges for pedestrians.

Project timing

The Jimboomba Local Road Upgrades commenced in 2021. It will be delivered in stages across multiple streets.

We will communicate with residents and businesses before works begin to let you know timings and what you can expect.

Stage 1

Complete

Sections of South Street, Nichols Street, John Street, Hill Street and Mary Street.

 

Stage 2

Scheduled to conclude mid-2024, construction and weather conditions permitting.

Sections of Anders Street, Ann Street, Cross Street, Manning Street and Spring Street. Stage 2 involved converting Spring Street to a cul-de-sac. This was to accommodate The Department of Transport Main Roads’ (TMR’s) upgrade plans for Brisbane Street.

 

Stage 3

Currently in detailed design, due to conclude mid-2024, design conditions permitting.

 

Construction is scheduled for late 2024, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Project impacts

During the design phase there are minimal on-site impacts to residents.

As the project progresses to construction some temporary changes can be expected. We will update the webpage to reflect what you can expect.

Nearby projects

Transport and Main Roads (TMR) works

Ann Street and Bell Street will be converted to cul-de-sacs as part of TMR's Mount Lindesay Highway (Brisbane - Beaudesert), Johanna Street to South Street (Jimboomba) duplication project.
