Who should be immunised against influenza?
The Influenza Vaccine is safe, effective and recommended for everyone six months and over and is especially important for groups at higher risk of serious disease. For those not eligible for free influenza vaccine it is available to be purchased at a cost of $13.
Who is eligible for free influenza vaccine?
- people aged 65 years and over
- pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
- children aged 6 months to less than 5 years
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (aged 6 months and over)
- people 6 months and over with certain medical conditions listed in the table below.

Type 1 or 2 diabetes, chronic metabolic disorders

Renal disease

Chronic renal failure

Haematological disorders
|
Haemoglobinopathies
|
Long-term aspirin therapy in children aged 5 to 10 years

These children are at increased risk of Reye syndrome following influenza infection

Book an appointment
You can book and manage your vaccination appointment online using VaxApp, an immunisation management platform we are using to improve our service delivery. You must register and make a booking on the Vaxapp system to ensure you can be seen. While we do accept walk-ins there is limited availability and if a clinic has reached capacity, walk-ins will not be able to be seen.
