Notice of work - Greenbank Road North Maclean

These works are aimed at reconstructing the road and drainage network in our city following the major rain event of 2022.

This project is jointly funded by Commonwealth and State Governments’ Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) for the Restoration of Essential Public Assets and the programs Betterment Fund.

What is happening?

We are upgrading approximately 1.4 kilometers of Greenbank Road, heading south from Andalusain Drive down to just north of Scott Lane.

This means a smoother road with wider lanes and shoulders and improved flood resilience to keep you moving.

Pavement reconstruction works will include:

  • raising the road in some sections to improve flood resilience
  • widening lanes and building wider shoulders
  • reconstruction of the road pavement and excavation works in some sections
  • improving drainage
  • removal of vegetation and tree clearing within Council Road reserve as required.

We have appointed a contractor, Alder Constructions to undertake these works.

When is it happening?

Main works are expected to commence late-July 2024 and are expected to be completed by December 2024, site and weather conditions permitting.

Works will generally occur Monday to Friday, between 6:00am to 6:00pm. Should works extend beyond these hours, we will notify affected residents.

Project impacts

  • Changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits, short term lane closure and detours (as needed).
  • Increased noise, dust and vibration.
  • Temporary disruption to driveway access. Affected residents will be notified in advance.
  • Clearing of trees and vegetation where required.
