Planning for Council Infrastructure Projects is often undertaken well in advance of construction.
Property is generally not acquired (by negotiation or compulsory acquisition) until construction is about to start.
If Landowners can show that a delay in acquiring their property will cause genuine hardship, they may be eligible to apply for early acquisition. To be eligible, all Landowners of the property must request an early acquisition. At least one of the Landowners of the property must be experiencing genuine hardship.
