Waller Park BMX Enhancements
On 24 June 2016, the Queensland Government notified that Council was successful in securing $300,000 to help deliver a series of BMX Enhancements at Waller Park, Browns Plains. Together with Council's contribution of $575,000 and a contribution from Centenary Plains BMX of $25,000 the total BMX Enhancements is valued at $900,000.
When completed, the BMX Enhancements will include:
- Construction of a new pump track
- Upgrade the access road
- Construction of a new clubhouse
Since receiving the funding, Council has been working with Centenary Plains BMX, as the lessee, to design the proposed BMX Enhancements.
Council is excited to announce that construction is now complete for the Pump Track and is nearing completion for the Access Road.
Council is now undertaking to commence construction on the final component of the BMX Enhancements, being the Clubhouse. Construction for the Clubhouse will commence from April 2018 and is expected to finish by August 2018, weather permitting.
During this time, it is important to recognise parts of Waller Park will become a construction site for a period of time. Council is endeavouring, where practical, to minimise disruption and inconvenience to nearby residents and park users. Council appreciates your patience during this time and notes throughout this period, Centenary Plains BMX will continue to operate as usual.
