What is happening?
We are upgrading a section of the Cusack Lane Streetscape to provide a safer public space, improve accessibility and opportunities for more on-street activities for the local community and businesses.
- Earthworks and underground powerlines to create more useable public spaces.
- Expansion of existing footpaths and gardens by relocating existing on-street car parking spaces on Cusack Lane.
- Relocating and adding more on-street parking spaces on the western side of Cusack Lane further from the intersection and along Mt Lindesay Service Road to improve safety and provide more useable active space.
- Two new on-street disability parking spaces to be allocated in front of the existing service station to provide better access for people with a disability.
- New street trees, bins and upgraded seating for a fresher look and feel.
- Decorative lighting to create a brighter, more welcoming place after hours.
The streetscape upgrade means:
- Improved opportunities for on-street and outdoor dining.
- A more welcoming and accessible place for everyone.
- More public activities on the street.
- Encourage night time economy.
- Safer and greener public space.
