  • community safety research and planning
  • delivery of community-based crime prevention initiatives
  • delivery of the Logan Safety Camera Program.

Community safety research and planning

Perceptions of crime

We regularly ask our community members for feedback about their perceptions of crime and safety in Logan. This helps us to plan and prioritise community safety activities aimed at increasing feelings of safety across the city.

To tell us how you feel about crime and safety in your local community, please email us at safecity@logan.qld.gov.au.

Crime statistics

To identify crime hot spots and top offences for the City of Logan, our Community Safety Program undertake analysis of Queensland Police Service data and develop annual crime profiles for each division and the entire city. This informs our planning and delivery of targeted community safety initiatives.

Research projects

The Community Safety Program undertake research projects with various learning institutions and funding bodies. This makes sure that we deliver evidence-based crime prevention initiatives and remain informed of current crime trends.

Community based crime prevention initiatives

Based on the above research, our Community Safety Program develop and deliver targeted and city-wide community-based crime prevention initiatives. Some of these activities include:

  • Annual City of Logan Safe City Awards
  • Hooning Taskforce
  • Community safety presentations to community members i.e. personal safety, frauds and scams, business crime prevention
  • Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) awareness
  • General crime prevention and community safety education and awareness
  • Safety audits of Council facilities and parks.
