We are aware of crash history at this location and have received grant funding to upgrade the intersection under the Black Spot Program.
We are now in the final stage of the design phase and will seek tenders for construction once finalised.
Early works (major service relocations) will be carried out prior to the main construction phase. We will keep the community updated as the project progresses.

The Black Spot Program was introduced as part of the Australian Government's commitment to reduce the risk of crashes. The program targets locations where crashes have occurred or are at risk of happening.
Crash data gathered over a recent five-year period confirmed 11 crashes were reported at this intersection, with 3 incidents requiring medical treatment. Additional crashes have occurred since this data was collected.
We are committed to improving road safety across Logan. This upgrade will help deliver a safer intersection by reducing the risk of potential future crashes.
Project timeline
Design work on the intersection upgrade is nearing completion.
We will communicate with residents and business owners about timing and what they should expect before any construction works begin.
Project features
The design includes:
- new traffic lights, signalised pedestrian crossings and street lighting
- a right turn lane on Bumstead Road into Julie Street
- raised pedestrian crossings into and out of Julie Street
- dedicated on-road bike lanes
- a new footpath on Bumstead Road
- upgraded stormwater drainage
- resurfacing and restoring the road for a safer and smoother experience
- concrete medians, updated line marking and other finishing works.
