With our city’s population set to increase by more than 50 per cent by 2041, improving our road network is one of the ways Logan City Council is preparing for the future. As part of this, we’re planning a long-term major upgrade of Wuraga Road, from Prangley Road to Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, Beenleigh. These changes will help ensure our local road network remains fit for purpose well into the future.
Project Timeline
In July 2021, we asked the community what was important to them in planning new roads for their suburbs, including potential changes to Wuraga Road.
A short list of potential road alignments was identified.
A detailed assessment of each potential alignment was carried out to determine the best way to improve transport connectivity in Bahrs Scrub and Beenleigh.
The preferred alignment for this future project was adopted by Council in May 2023.
The next phase involves investigating land requirements for the new alignment.
Land requirements
As part of our long-term planning for the realignment, some land will need to be acquired to widen sections of Wuraga Road between Prangley Road and Beaudesert - Beenleigh Road.
Once details of the necessary land requirements are known, we will contact affected property owners directly.
