Young Citizen of the Year
Nominees must:
- be aged under 27 years at 26 January 2024, and
- have resided in the City of Logan for part of the specified year.
Citizen of the Year
Nominees must:
- be aged over 27 years at 26 January 2024, and
- have resided in the City of Logan for part of the specified year.
Nomination Process
- Nominations may only be made online by the official nomination forms which can be found at City of Logan Australia Day Awards.
- Nominations must be received by midnight on 3 December 2024. Late nominations will be not considered.
- Nominations provided in hard copy, email, USB or cloud storage will not be accepted.
- Nominees agree to allow the use of their nomination information for publicity purposes.
- All nomination information and material submitted remains the property of Logan City Council and will not be returned.
- Nominees agree to make themselves available, without cost, for publicity purposes as required prior to, and after, the Awards Presentation.
- Nominations for those who are also employed by Logan City Council will be subject to potential conflict of interest considerations.
- Logan City Council elected representatives are not eligible for nomination.
Judging
The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The judges reserve the right to not allocate an award in any of the award categories if, in their opinions, the nominations are of insufficient merit.
The judges reserve the right to allocate additional special recognition awards (e.g. Spirit of Logan) as they see appropriate.
Awards Ceremony
Nominees should be available to attend the Australia Day Awards ceremony on 26 January 2025. Inability to attend does not disqualify entry.
Consent
Nominators Consent
- By submitting a nomination, each nominator confirms consent, and has the consent of any person whose personal information is contained in a nomination, to provide that information to Logan City Council to disclose that personal information to other parties for the purposes of conducting the Awards.
- Each nominator consents to Logan City Council using the nominator’s statements, name, likeness, image, voice and/or participation in the Awards (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing the Awards (including any outcome). The personal information of nominators will not be given to any third party, unless personally contacted and agreed upon.
- If the nominator does not agree, the nominator must not provide their personal information or the personal information of anyone else and their nomination for the Awards may not be considered.
Nominee Consent
By accepting their nomination, the nominee(s) (or if under the age of 18, the nominee’s parent or legal guardian) consent to:
- Logan City Council using their nomination statements, name, likeness, image, voice and/or participation in the Awards (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing the Awards (including any outcome); and
- Logan City Council using their personal information, and for Logan City Council to disclose their personal information to other parties including, for the purposes of conducting the Awards. The personal information of nominees will not be given to any third party, unless personally contacted and agreed upon ie. A media company wanting to interview a nominee, finalist or winner
- Assigning nominees to become the property of Logan City Council. As such, Logan City Council is the owner of all copyright and other intellectual property in the award process.
- If the nominee does not agree, the nominee will not be able to accept their nomination and will be ineligible for an Awards.
- The nominee will be required to confirm their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by following the instructions set out in the email notification.
