Project overview

We are upgrading intersections on Alamein Street at George and Main streets in Beenleigh.

We’re improving road safety on Alamein Street in Beenleigh, at the intersections of George Street and Main Street. The upgrades will provide improved traffic flow, more reliable travel times and safer movement for motorists, bike riders and pedestrians.

These works are proudly supported by the Australian Government’s Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) Grants Program and are being delivered under Council’s Major Intersections and Pavement Rehabilitation Program.

Latest updates

The Alamein Street bus stop (ID 310165) at Beenleigh State High School will be temporarily closed from Sunday 1 December 2024 while Council brings vital infrastructure improvements as part of our Alamein Street Intersections Upgrade, at George and Main streets.

Route 553 commuters are advised to use an alternative bus stop (ID 310035) at the Beenleigh Train Station, approximately 340 metres (4-minute walk) to the south on Alamein Street.

We apologise for any temporary inconvenience, while we provide these essential intersection upgrades.
