History

Unlike much of the surrounding area, the land that would one day become known as Silverbark Ridge saw early land clearance. However, bushland continued to dominate the district. In the 1880s, Thomas Lehane owned much of what is now known as Silverbark Ridge. Flagstone Creek forms its northern boundary, with the nearby Round Mountain visible just over the suburb boundary in New Beith. Silverbark Ridge was formerly part of New Beith and was gazetted as a suburb within the City of Logan on 20 May 2016. The suburb is named after the trees found in the district.
