Cr Koranski – currently the city’s Deputy Mayor and previously the City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson – made the announcement at today’s Ordinary Council meeting.

She said her focus had always been on making positive change for the Division 4 community as well as the people of the City of Logan.

Division 4 includes the suburbs of Bannockburn, Belivah, Buccan, Cedar Creek, Kairabah, Waterford, Windaroo, Wolffdene and Yarrabilba, as well as part of Bethania, Logan Village and Tamborine.

“It’s been a tremendous privilege to work with the community to get some great outcomes across the division,” Cr Koranski said.

“Watching Yarrabilba grow from the ground up and how it has developed its identity over the past 10 years has been rewarding, and I was thrilled to see The Buzz community hub take shape and open this term.

“I’ve also loved the evolution of Logan Village Green to ensure it remains a much-loved gathering place for our community.”

Cr Koranski said she was looking forward to spending more time with her family, travelling and finishing a Masters in Business Psychology.

Mayor Darren Power thanked Cr Koranski for her commitment to the City of Logan.

“Cr Koranski has served her division – one of the largest in Logan – with dedication and passion since 2016,” Cr Power said.

“She’s certainly knocked on my door many a time to fight for her constituents while I’ve been Mayor, but her service to the community was evident before she was elected to Council, and I thank her for being so involved in growing our city.”

Prior to being elected to Council, Cr Koranski was recognised with the 2014 Mayor’s Spirit of Logan Award for her contributions to the community, which included serving on the Logan Country Chamber of Commerce board, Cancer Council Queensland Jimboomba Branch, Veto Energex Towers Organisation (VETO) and the Logan Country Safe City Group.

She also helped coordinate the highly successful celebration of the Logan Village Settler's Day 150 year anniversary in 2013.
