The Black Spot Program was introduced as part of the Australian Government's commitment to reduce the risk of crashes. The program targets locations where crashes have occurred or are at risk of happening.
Crash data confirmed this section of road continues to experience traffic incidents and crashes.
We are committed to improving road safety across Logan. This upgrade will help deliver a safer intersection by reducing the risk of potential crashes through the construction of a signalised intersection to formalise when vehicles can go, stop and turn, and introducing pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights.
Project timeline
Design of the intersection upgrade commenced in March 2022 and finished in February 2023. Construction is expected to commence September 2024, and is anticipated to be completed in December 2024.
We will communicate with residents and business owners before works begin with further details, including timing and what you can expect.
